How can I optimize the google ads for my mmorpg forums?

by admin on February 8, 2010

Hi, we’re working on an upcoming pirate themed multilayer game and we’ve recently added two adsense banners on the forums. The problem is that all of the ads are usually unrelated. For example, most of them are for stuff like dating, weight loss, or even pet insurance!

I was just wondering how I can optimize the ads by editing the meta tags for phpbb3. I’ve tried changing some tags but I still have no luck!

Thanks!

oh and the site is:

Many a times the Google AdSense Ads displayed on a site are not related to the actual content. This is definitely a sore point as users may not click on unrelated ads.

The non targeted Ads that are displayed are usually based on the most popular keywords for the website. I have been experiencing this problem since quite long and was trying to find a solution to it.

Google AdSense has a nice little trick using which you can specify the content area, based on which the ads should be served. I have definitely seen a better performance in the ads after using the trick.

Simply add the comments on the area you ahve the adsense adds to demarcate your content area from the rest of the site. It is quite simple and can be done in less than a minute. Use taggs they are really helpfull! It will increase clicks.
